An ideal vacancy for an undergraduate with a few years of experience in logistics/supply chain to join the Supply chain division of this solid, well established retailer in Cape Town.

You will be responsible for managing a small team. Previous Inbound logistics or process improvement experience is a plus. Relevant undergraduate degree in Logistics/ Supply Chain/ Engineering is required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or minimum 3 yr national diploma
  • Proven track record of managing teams
  • 4 years process improvement / engineering / logistics experience

Your responsibilities will include:        

Work with your team/across departments to reduce delivery lead times:

  • Manage suppliers against clear delivery SLAs and work to reducing through supplier compliance & root cause analysis of delays
  • Work with Retail team to ensure delivery performance is in line with agreed delivery SLAs for suppliers
  • Ensure buying disciplines and effective order management are being adhered to within category
  • Managing the status of shipments in order to ensure smooth transition into warehouses
  • Reconciling all receiving discrepancies with Warehouse, Suppliers and internal Accounts Payable team (incl. facilitating feedback to continuous improve process)
  • Manage the inbound team for your category including the personal relations, individual performance, deadlines and expectations

Deliver world-class customer experience:

  • Ensuring customer order dates are met through rigorous management of our supplier delivery times and order fulfilment
  • Ensuring customers are updated on late delivery timeously
  • Root cause analysis of customer service failings within category to drive process improvement
  • Defining and managing clear standard operating procedures across the team
